Hollywood actress SHARON STONE is eyeing a career as an author after writing a collection of short stories.
The Casino star is reportedly looking for a publishing deal to have her work released.
Stone insists her tales are not autobiographical or about the movie industry, but are instead a set of mystery "thrillers", according to Fox News.
Stone played the role of a murderous novelist in her famous turn in 1992's Basic Instinct. She revived the role of Catherine Tramell for a sequel in 2006.

SHARON STONE - STONE ISSUES SECOND APOLOGY FOR EARTHQUAKE REMARKS

sharon_stone_2 LATEST: SHARON STONE has apologised for a second time for her insensitive Chinese earthquake remarks, insisting they were blown out of proportion by media "sensationalism".
The outspoken actress left Chinese journalists stunned at the Cannes International Film Festival in France last month (22May08) when she suggested the country's recent earthquake was down to "karma".
Stone was talking to a Chinese media outlet when she linked the recent disaster, which left more than 67,000 people dead, to China's recent treatment of Tibetans.
She said, "All these earthquakes and stuff happened and I thought, 'Is that karma?' When you are not nice, bad things happen to you."
A week later, the Basic Instinct star released a statement of apology saying she was "deeply sorry" for her ill-advised comments.
And now Stone seems even more determined to make amends for her misstep, issuing a second statement on Wednesday (04Jun08), reports People.com.
Stone, 50, says: "There have been numerous reports about what I said in Cannes.
"I would like to set the record straight about what I feel in my heart and end all of the misunderstandings. Yes, I misspoke. I could not be more regretful of that mistake. It was unintentional.
"I apologise, those words were never meant to be hurtful to anyone, they were an accident of my distraction and a product of news sensationalism.
"I am deeply saddened by the pain that this whole situation has caused the victims of the devastating earthquake in China."

STONE UPSET BY INAUGURAL BALL SNUB

Actress SHARON STONE was one celebrity who left Washington, D.C. unhappy following President BARACK OBAMA's historic inauguration, after her friends were turned away from one of the night's 10 glitzy balls.
The Basic Instinct star was caught on camera pleading with organisers of the Western States Inauguration Ball, where Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony performed, to let her entourage past security.
The upset actress said, "My friends can't come in? Then I can't come in. We're not doing that."

Online uproar over Sharon Stone's 'karma' remarks

30look2 Sharon Stone's 'bad karma' comment has sparked uproar amongst netizens, who have condemned the actress and believe that her apology on the issue is not genuine.

The 50-year-old actress had made the controversial comment on the red carpet at Cannes  Film Festival, where she had linked the Chinese earthquake with the country's policy towards Tibet.

And now, cosmetic giant 'Christian Dior' has released an apology statement from the actress, at the same time as announcing her dismissal from its campaign in the country.

The Basic Instinct star's comments have annoyed the Chinese netizens, who said that her apology was insincere.

They 'will reject it and not forgive (her),' China Daily quoted them, as saying.

Even before she made her statement of her "wrong speech and behavior", Chinese online called her ignorant of the Tibet issue and that she had an uncaring attitude towards Chinese people's sorrows, implying her disrespect of life.

In fact, the Chinese uproar against her ruthless comments has made them call for banning Stone's movies from being shown in all Chinese cinemas.

This, added on with comments from online readers from many foreign countries ridiculing her 'karma' comments, has made the situation even worse for the Hollywood actress.

'As an American, it makes me embarrassed that Sharon Stone would be so ignorant. She does not represent the feelings of most of us, nor should she be given any press. She is just another useless Hollywood elitist opening her mouth rather than her heart, and that is far too often the case,' wrote a reader called Kevin, on the china daily.com.can forum.

'I hope our Chinese friends will know that we Americans are grieving for those killed and affected by this terrible earthquake, and that we wish to help in any way we can. I don't know of anyone who agrees with Ms. Stone's comments,' wrote another American reader.

A huge majority of Chinese English readers worldwide have also commented that Stone's comments at Cannes were certainly insulting.

In fact, The Shanghai International Film Festival has also decided to permanently ban Stone and her films.

Mallika does a Sharon Stone!

23cowgal

No, Mallika Sherawat is not doing a desi Basic Instinct.

Instead, she's taking on Sharon Stone's look in the Hollywood film, The Quick And The Dead.

In the film, Stone played a cowgirl, complete with deadly shooting skills. Mallika hopes to replicate that in her upcoming film, Ugly Aur Pagli.

Mallika plays a dominant woman, who spars with Ranvir Shorey's character in Ugli Aur Pagli.

Now, we don't know about Mallika's shooting skills, but she sure looks hot.

Sharon flirts with Dev Patel

Imagine what it would be like to be 18 years old and starring in one of the biggest films of the year, a film that has won every major film award, a film that is a shoo-in for the Best Picture Oscar. People are throwing free clothes, free watches, free everything at you. You get to meet your idols in the film world - people like Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. It’s hard not to let it all go to your head.

Now imagine all this, and add to it a not-so-subtle flirtation by Sharon Stone. Such is the case for Dev Patel, the 18-year-old star of Slumdog Millionaire. At Sunday’s BAFTAs, Sharon couldn’t (or wouldn’t) keep her hands off of Dev. But Dev is a good kid, a smart kid. He just laughed it off. Thank God. The Mirror has more details:

bafta afterparty departures 090209

As the young star of hit Brit flick Slumdog Millionaire, Dev Patel has his admirers – and, Stone us, if they don’t include a Hollywood dame old enough to be his gran!

The 18-year-old Harrow lad caught the eye of Basic Instinct star [50-year-old] Sharon Stone at the Orange Bafta Awards in London. And he couldn’t believe his luck.

Still on a high after Slumdog scooped seven awards, Dev told us: “Sharon’s great, she’s been flirting with me all night.”

“She was chasing me around earlier, slapping me.”

“Sharon Stone! Can you believe it?”

Slapping him? Sharon Stone slapped him? I’m assuming it was a play-slap, like “oh, aren’t you a cutie” kind of slap, but still, Sharon should keep her crazy hands to her crazy self. I have to give it to her though - at the BAFTAs, she looked better than she has in years. She was decked out in a pretty red dress and her hair looked half-decent. Maybe Sharon thought that part of her Hollywood comeback would include a torrid affair with a much younger, more relevant star? It sort of worked for Demi Moore.

Sharon Stone and Dev Patel (with co-star Freida Pinto) are shown at the BAFTA Awards on 2/9/08.

This Woman Does Not Look 49

Sharon Stone celebrated her 49th birthday with her pals at paparazzi haven The Ivy. The Basic Instinct star was joined by her Bobby co-star Demi Moore, and Melanie Griffith.
Stone was all smiles as she tasted her birthday cake and filmed the festivities on a Super 8 camera, but was not very pleased when she was mobbed by paparazzi as she tried to get into her limo.

SHARON STONE - STONE SHUNNED BY CHINESE FILM FESTIVAL

sharon_stoneLATEST: SHARON STONE has been shunned by a Chinese film festival after she made insensitive remarks about the country's recent earthquake.
The Basic Instinct star was forced to apologise after she stunned journalists at last month's (May08) Cannes International Film Festival in France by suggesting the disaster was the result of "bad karma".
Stone linked the tragedy, which killed more than 67,000 people, to China's treatment of Tibetans, saying: "All these earthquakes and stuff happened and I thought, 'Is that karma?' When you are not nice, bad things happen to you."
The comments led to Chinese officials calling for a boycott of all her upcoming film projects, and now Stone has been told she is not welcome at the country's Shanghai Film Festival, which begins on Wednesday (04Jun08).
Stone attended last year's (07) event as the ambassador for French design house Christian Dior. However, protests in China have led to advertisements featuring the actress being taken down.

Sharon Stone Dating Women Now?

Sharon-Stone

File this one under 'Strangest Story of the Year.' Apparently actress Sharon Stone is so fed up with men she's tempted to start dating women instead.
Stone claims that men "aren't masculin e enough" any more and is considering dating a woman for a change. I'm assuming she would want a butch chick, right?
She says, "Everybody is bisexual to an extent. Now men act like women and it's difficult to have a relationship because I like men in that old-fashioned way. I like masculinity and, in truth, only women do that now."
"If you go on a date with a woman, they call and say, 'I'm going to pick you up at seven.' They take you somewhere great and you can dress like a chick."
Has Sharon Stone finally gone off the deep end? How do you just wake up one morning and say, "I think I'll try dating women now"? It's like that SATC episode when Samantha was a lesbian for like 3 episodes---so random!

PETA's Pissed At Sharon Stone Over A Spider

sharon-stone

PETA needs to take it down a notch. They have nothing better to do than to lash out at celebrities. And just when we thought they were done with Sharon Stone, she's in trouble with them again. They're criticizing her for "mutilating" a spider, so they say.
Ernest Borgnine claims Sharon, who was his co-star in the 1981 horror film Deadly Blessing, insisted a tarantula have its pincers removed before she would shoot a scene with it. Cue the PETA peeps! They tell the New York Post, "She chose to make a tiny insect an amputee. Perhaps she should change her name legally to 'Heart of Stone.'"
We don't blame Sharon! It was probably a really scary spider! Sometimes PETA just needs something to talk about.

Sharon Stone Faces $1 Billion Lawsuit

Sharon-Law-Suit

Sharon Stone's big mouth may have gotten her into a little hot water. She's facing a $1 billion lawsuit from the victims of China's recent earthquake, which she referred to as "karma."
A New York lawyer has rallied more than 1000 survivors and victims' families to serve Sharon with legal documents, demanding a better apology, or they'll sue.
Attorney Ming Hai says: "For the families who have lost their loved ones or lost limbs or suffered severe injuries, your… statement and act  has caused extreme emotional distress."
It's true that you really have to watch what you say these days because someone out there may be offended, and this could happen. Granted, they may be going a little overboard with a $1 billion lawsuit. What do you think? Should Sharon issue a better apology to the families of victims and survivors?

Sharon - STARS TURN OUT FOR HUSTON HUSBAND'S FUNERAL

sharon_stone_boyfriend SHARON STONE, HARRISON FORD and JACK NICHOLSON were among the stars who turned out to pay their respects at the funeral of Californian sculptor ROBERT GRAHAM, husband of Oscar-winning actress ANJELICA HUSTON.
Graham, whose works were incorporated into civic monuments including the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial in Washington, D.C., passed away aged 70 on 27 December (08) at California's Santa Monica UCLA Medical Centre and Orthopaedic Hospital.
Friends and family gathered on Wednesday (07Jan09) for the memorial service, held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angel in Los Angeles.
Nicholson was among the mourners, showing support for ex-girlfriend Huston, who he dated from 1973 until 1989.
Addams Family star Huston married Graham in 1992.

Sharon Stone Denies Losing Custody

Sharon-According to her lawyers, Sharon Stone has not lost custody of her son Roan. Sharon had gone to court to try and move her son down to Los Angeles with her, where he would attend school. But the court ruled in favor of Stone's ex-husband, who lives in northern California.
According to the court minute order dated September 12th, the reason is that the child's dad Phil Bronstein, "can provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure and consistent home for the child."
The two will continue to share joint custody of Roan, but he will remain living primarily with his father up north. It seems like the court even the knows that Sharon has a few screws loose up there.

Sharon Stone Wanted To Botox Her Son

Sharon-with-son Has Sharon Stone lost her marbles? TMZ is reporting that Sharon wanted her son to get botox on his feet to resolve a foot odor issue. Uh...he's eight! We highly doubt botox is a good idea for an eight year old.
The judge in the Sharon Stone custody case is pretty pissed at Sharon's parental skills. "Another example of an overreaction is that Mother suggested that Roan should have Botox injections in his feet to resolve a problem he had with foot odor," said the judge.
"As Father appropriately noted, the simple and common sense approach of making sure Roan wore socks with his shoes and used foot deodorant corrected the odor problem without the need for any invasive procedure on this young child."
The judge went on to say that he thinks Roan's father has given him nothing but unconditional love, while Sharon has gone out of her way to "put up roadblocks to Roan's getting help."
When Sharon argued that she put her career on hold for her son, the judge snapped back, "If Mother has, in fact, limited her career to make herself available for Roan, she has done little to make this evident to Roan, his school or this Court." Ouch! Talk about putting her in her place.

Dior Drops Actress From Ads After China Remarks

PARIS — Christian Dior, the French fashion brand, has become the latest global company to learn a hard lesson about the danger of offending Chinese pride.

Sharon_Stone_0 Facing the possibility of a boycott of its products, the luxury company said on Thursday that it had dropped the American actress Sharon Stone from its advertising in China after she suggested last week that the recent earthquakes in Sichuan Province were karmic retribution for Beijing’s treatment of Tibet.

“They had no choice” but to drop her from China, said Tom Bernardin, the chairman and chief executive of the advertising agency Leo Burnett Worldwide. “Obviously, she crossed the line.”

Ms. Stone said last week during the Cannes Film Festival: “I’m not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And then the earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?”

The timing for Dior was awkward. With the Beijing Olympic Games a few months away and growth slowing in developed countries, luxury companies have been pouring resources into China.

“What comes through in this is the importance of the Chinese market to foreign brands,” Mr. Bernardin said. “Being successful in China, like anywhere else, means being sensitive to local conditions.”

Despite efforts to keep attention on their affairs, companies have found that politics has a way of creeping into business in unexpected ways in China.

In April, the French retailer Carrefour was the focus of protests after disturbances at the Olympic torch relay in Paris, when pro-Tibetan demonstrators lunged at a Chinese torch-bearer in a wheelchair. That image, quickly available on video-sharing Web sites, set off calls for a boycott of the company. Tempers calmed, but only after the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, dispatched an aide to soothe relations.

In 2005, Japanese businesses across China were singled out for boycotts and demonstrations after Japan sought to introduce textbooks into junior high school that played down its militarism in World War II.

The gaffe by Ms. Stone, which also provoked a call for boycotts of films in which she appears, brought sharp criticism from Xinhua, the state-run Chinese news agency, which wrote that Ms. Stone is “the public enemy of all mankind.”

A spokesman for Dior in Paris, who asked not to be identified because of company policy, said that Dior’s office in Shanghai had issued a statement in which it announced that it would stop using Ms. Stone in its advertising in China. The statement recognized that the comments had been “hurtful.”

According to the spokesman in Paris, “We also said we shared the pain of the Chinese people and earthquake victims in Sichuan.”

Ms. Stone also apologized in a statement released by Dior, in which she said that she would “wholly devote” herself to helping earthquake victims.

Sharon Stone Wants to Make Believe

Shron_Stone

Oh Sharon ! Sharon Stone was seen shopping in Beverly Hills recently wearing a great T-shirt!
Although we were initially distracted by her leather pants and unbelievably expensive  ostrich Hermes Berkin bag, we eventually did get around to actually reading the shirt.
The shirt reads "Make believe not war" and  we can't help but agree with the former film star. We just wonder if Sharon makes believe she has had a hit movie since 1995?  Ouch!

Sharon Stone "Benjamin Button" Premiere

Last night was a black tie affair premiere for the new Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." While heading through the carpet, an interesting sound resonated through the air as Sharon Stone walked on the carpet ignoring the event photographers! Could it be that they  were excited to see Sharon on the carpet. Nooo...not a chance, it came to light that Ms. Stone was going to do her usual ignore the accredited photographers while walking down the carpet.
